Honoring a Decade of Monster Slaying: Xbox and CD Projekt Red Unveil The Witcher 3 Anniversary Controllers

In celebration of a full decade since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt first captivated players around the world, CD Projekt Red has teamed up with Xbox to release two limited-edition controllers that honor the game’s enduring legacy. Designed with rich storytelling in mind, the new controllers come in both standard and Elite Series 2 formats, showcasing a deep black finish enhanced by bold red accents, and crowned with the iconic wolf medallion of Geralt of Rivia.

These aren’t just flashy collector’s items—they’re crafted to feel like artifacts straight from the Continent. Joshua Flowers, who led the design effort at CD Projekt Red, described the intent behind the project as creating something that feels worn-in and personal, like a companion on the path that has shared in Geralt’s many adventures. The aesthetic was born from a narrative vision, ensuring the controller wouldn't just look Witcher-themed but would belong in that universe.

CD Projekt Red's Agnieszka Skuza echoed this sentiment, praising the collaboration with Xbox and noting the care both teams put into capturing the heart of the game in physical form. “We wanted something that resonated with those who’ve walked beside Geralt these past ten years,” she explained.

Both controllers are now available—the standard version for $79.99 USD and the Elite Series 2 Core for $169.99 USD, the latter being exclusive to the Microsoft Store. Microsoft has yet to say how long these special editions will be on shelves, making them a must-have for die-hard Witcher fans and collectors alike.

The launch of these controllers comes as anticipation grows for The Witcher 4, which was teased at The Game Awards 2024. With Ciri set to take center stage as the new protagonist, the franchise is entering a bold new chapter, and these anniversary controllers serve as a bridge between the beloved past and the exciting future.
